A Huge Thankyou and a Goodbye

Standard

The time has come for me to renew my blog membership for the following year and, since I have been greatly dissatisfied of late with WordPress tablet app, I have decided that I am not prepared to pay the $90 for a service that has given me so much grief in the last few months.  I have thought long and hard about this before making my final decision and the most painful aspect of it is the thought of losing touch with some of you who have shared my journeys and adventures with me in the last 5 years.

Blogging is a marvellous way of meeting people from all over the world and to share our experiences, thoughts, musings, joys and griefs and I have come to consider some of you as very dear virtual friends and I loathe the thought of losing you.  I can’t begin to tell you have much your visits, likes and comments on my blogposts have meant to me and it has always been a light at the end of the tunnel for me in the depths of winter, when my spirits are usually very low.  Nevertheless, my departure from this site doesn’t mean I will stop following you, as I have also enjoyed reading about your lives, observations and experiences and I will not stop following your blogs, which I find most interesting, inspirational, entertaining and pleasing.  It just means that I will have to find another blogging site that works a lot better for me and my particular needs (and, dare I say? temper!!!).

So finally, I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for having been such good sports and supportive followers.  I want you to know that I value your virtual friendship immensely and that I look forward to reading all about your future adventures and experiences.  Best of luck to you all from a blogging friend and ‘hasta pronto’ (see (read) you soon).  💖💖💖

About fatimasaysell

Travelling is my passion. Ever since I was a young girl I've been wanting to see the world. I studied languages to make this dream possible and I love meeting people from different cultures and countries. Having a motorhome since 2010 has made this possible and I hope I'll be able to retire travelling in one.

  1. OMG so sad to hear! will missed you around here. But, I can undertand your reasoning, the cust service is a bit daunting as well. Will find a way to keep in touch as I left VT as well lol!

    • I’ll still read your blogs and will let you know if and when I start a new one. I haven’t used VT for a long time as I just haven’t got the time for so much social media. The blogs are interesting, though. 👍

  2. Sorry to hear you are leaving the blogging world for now but we will still keep in touch via facebook and twitter. I don´t want to lose you as a cyber friend. ❤

  3. Oh Fatima you will be missed so much, I know I am being very selfish, ilook forward so much to your bloggs always read them even if I don’t always put a comment. I have been caravanning & motorhoming for 30 odd years driving HGV international trucks to all parts of Europe & the middle east, but have learnt & enjoyed so much from your blogs.
stay safe, drive safe, Bon Route love to you all.

    • Thank you so much, John. I really appreciate your kind words and it makes me very happy to think you enjoyed reading about my travels. As I said, I may continue with my blog on a different site. All the best and safe travels! 💖

  4. I have enjoyed our dialogues. You have a vibrant and joyful voice that will be missed so find a way to come back. Looking forward to hearing about your new adventures.

  5. Fatima — I’m going to miss taking virtual vacations through your posts. The moment you find a new blogging home, please, Please, PLEASE send me an email (LaurieBuchanan@me.com) so I can start following your fantastic posts again.

  6. Thank you so much, Laurie. Rest assured that I will continue to follow your blogposts as I find them very inspirational and fun. Thank you too for the email, which I will add to my contacts. ❤

    • Thank you, Karen. I don’t tend to blog during the summer holidays, but I will try and find a new blogging site in September. My subscription with WordPress expires at the end of July, so I’ll be around until then. 💖

    • Thank you for that . I’ll look into it after the summer, as I don’t blog whilst we are travelling. In Biscarrosse at the moment on our way to San Sebastián and Zaragoza.

  7. Fatima… Let´s say see you soon instead of bye bye… I totally understand you.. I sometimes feel that blogging takes me a lot of time… even when I post once monthly I still think so… But I love blogging and the bloggers community so I will hardly put it off… Can´t you just get back to the not Premium version?… I have never turnt my blog into a premium one, so just wondering if there is still a chance to get back to the free version.. maybe that way, you can come back if you feel in the mood without having to pay the annual fee?. 😉 Sending you much love & wishing you wonderful times ahead. Aquileana 🙂

    • You are right, Aquileana. I’ve been thinking about that, but I don’t think I’ll be allowed to share so many pictures. Only this morning I was thinking about paying the premium again as I am finding it difficult to let go, a bit like an addiction. Thank you for your kind comment and encouragement. Big hug. 💜

  8. Hi Fatima, I wondered where you were…couldn’t find your page from the gravatar page any longer, and today found it through my stats page. If you begin blogging elsewhere, let us know. I am going through my media library, because like you I don’t want to pay more than the 30.00 I pay annually to keep ads off the page. I’m at the limit for library storage. Not sure what I am going to do, but I have been deleting old posts and photos. Good luck. Kathy

  9. That is so sweet, you trying to find me! Thank you so much! When I wrote this post, another blogger told me I could still blog with WordPress without having to pay by starting a new blog, which falls under the umbrella of my original one, but it is free and that is what I have been doing since September and it seems to work. My new blog is called “sayselltravels”. I am not sure what the allowance is, but it is worth a try.
Good luck with your blog and please let me know if you start another one under a different name. It’s been lovely hearing from you again. 💟

  10. Blogger, which is my blog platform, is free and owned by Google. I like it and find it sleek and reliable, but I am not sure if you have tried it or not. Personally, I find blogging to be very therapeutic (if you have a moment to check out my blog I think you will see why). 🙂 When I began blogging just over 4 years ago I wanted to provide a haven for myself and others…away from the chaos and stresses of life. Please know that you are welcome to visit and comment anytime, it would be an honour to have you. In the meantime, I truly wish you all the best. Warm greetings from Montreal, Canada. 🙂

    • Thank you, Linda. I do appreciate your comment and suggestion and, of course, your visit to my blog. I too find blogging therapeutic and a great help to fight the winter blues that knock me down every year. That is one of the main reasons why I do it and, since I have met some lovely people through this medium, I couldn’t bring myself to leave this site. I have instead created another free blog with WordPress called sayselltravels, but I will be delighted to visit yours on Blogger too. Happy writing. 😃

    • Thank you for your kind words. I have started a new blog under sayselltravels.wordpress.com, if you are inerested, where I’ve published all our summer and winter stops. I hope to see you there.
